What is a UTI?

It’s an infection in any part of the urinary tract system caused by the introduction of uropathogenic bacteria, mainly Escherichia coli (E. coli). The majority of infections involve the lower urinary tract, the bladder and urethra.

How common are UTIs?

UTIs are the second most common infection in the US. Women are at a much higher risk of developing a UTI than are men. More than half of women will have at least one UTI at some point in their life and as many as 4 in 10 women who get a UTI will get at least one more within six months.

What can bring on a UTI?

Some of the most common causes of UTIs are sex, uncontrolled diseases, waiting too long to urinate, dehydration, hormone shifts due to birth control, feminine products, kidney stones.

What could happen if I left my UTI untreated?

If treated promptly a UTI is not likely to damage the urinary tract. If left untreated, however, infection can spread to the kidneys or blood stream and become very serious. It is better to prevent infections before they start.

What are the active ingredients in Canary’s gummy?

Each serving size (2 gummies) contains 36 mg of proanthocyanidins (PAC) from pure cranberry fruit extract.

What makes Canary unique?

Canary is the first gummy to contain 36 mg of proanthocyanidins (PAC) per dose from pure cranberry fruit extract. PACs have been shown in studies to promote urinary tract health by stopping bacterial adherence to the urinary tract wall thus allowing bacteria to be flushed out naturally in urine.

How did you create the Canary formula?

We worked with a research scientist at the Marucci Center for Blueberry and Cranberry Research at Rutgers to formulate Canary gummies. As a result, Canary gummies have the most effective level of bioactive PACs for preventing adhesion of bacteria that cause UTIs.

What are PACs?

PACs or proanthocyanidins are polyphenolic compounds found in a wide range of foods. The PACs found in cranberries are unique. They contain special DNA molecular linkages that are associated with preventing bacterial adhesion in certain parts of the body, including the urinary tract. They’re the only PACs that support urinary tract health.

Why is 36 mg of PAC the right amount for a UTI gummy?

A clinical trial conducted at Harvard and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association demonstrated positive effects in reducing bacteria that cause UTIs after patients took a 300-mL serving of cranberry juice. At the PE Marucci Center, researchers isolated PACs in the 300-mL serving of juice used in Harvard’s study and determined that it contained 36 mg of PAC. The result: Canary adopted 36 mgs as the “effective dose” of PAC in our UTI gummy.

Why is Canary the best option available?

Traditional over-the-counter cranberry products can vary widely in their quality and ingredients, making them unreliable for UTI maintenance. Laboratory studies show that many products on the market contain less than 5 mg of PACs, rendering them ineffective.

Even if they claim to contain 36 mg of PAC, many brands are using inexpensive insoluble PACs obtained from the fruit pulp and skins left over after juicing, which are not effective for maintenance of urinary tract health. It’s the soluble PACs found in pure cranberry juice concentrate that have demonstrated efficacy in clinical studies.
Canary’s gummy is standardized to contain 36 mg of soluble PACs, the most effective formulation for supporting urinary tract health.
